Nike’s Cole Haan to go fur-free
Feb. 25, 2008 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) –
BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) - Nike (NYSE:NKE) subsidiary Cole Haan says it will go fur-free in 2008.
People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals had asked Nike and Cole Haan to stop using fur in its products. While Nike doesn’t use any fur in its own products, Cole Haan uses fur in coats and gloves.
Cole Haan, which is headquartered in New York and Yarmouth, Maine, says it will stop using fur in its product line for ‘business and sustainability reasons.’
